(Bangkok, September 3, 2021) – Thai Vietjet has resumed its domestic flight service throughout the country and enhanced its frequency on all routes from early September, continuing its primary mission to provide passengers with more opportunity to travel with convenience and confidence under the highest level of safety and hygiene standard.
“I am delighted that the government has permitted airlines to resume domestic flights across the country. Previously during the travel restriction period, I had to travel frequently, and driving was not convenient for me at all. I had patiently looked forward to the restoration of domestic flight services for quite a while. This, I believe, would have a big positive impact on Thai tourism. Today, I flew back from Pa-ngan Island (Surat Thani) to Bangkok with Thai Vietjet, and I was impressed with decent service, convenient flight schedule, and a high level of safety and hygiene measures, from check-in at Surat Thani Airport to landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport.” said one passenger on the flight VZ351 from Surat Thani to Suvarnabhumi on the first day of domestic flight resumption.
Mr. Woranate Laprabang, Chief Executive Office of Thai Vietjet said: “Once the travel restriction regulation was loosened, Thai Vietjet prepared to serve passengers at our best as always. We are more than 100 percent ready to move forward and conquer the sky once again. We have recently announced our domestic and international route expansion plans, including cross-regional routes connecting Phuket Sandbox and international routes from Thailand to Singapore and Taipei. We also plan to add more aircraft to our modern and young fleet this year, enabling Thai Vietjet to provide better service, better punctuality and more convenient choices to our passengers.”
During the early stage of flight resumption, Thai Vietjet offers domestic services with a frequency of 1-2 flights per day across its entire domestic flight network, including flights from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Krabi, Udon Thani, Hat Yai, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ubon Ratchathani, and Surat Thani. In later weeks in September, the airline is increasing frequency on all routes to stimulate market demand. Cross-regional flights from Phuket to Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, and Udon Thani will begin on September 15, October 1, and November 10, 2021, respectively, while direct flights from Hat Yai to Chiang Rai will begin on October 1, 2021.
